<p>We’re looking for a Chemical Technician to fill an existing vacancy at our Mississauga location.</p><p>Join us at Can Art and leverage your expertise to make a real difference!</p><p>ABOUT US Can Art Aluminum Extrusion is a privately held North American based extruder of standard and custom aluminum profiles.</p><p>Can Art has grown from a single press operation in 1988 to the multi plant, multi press operation that we are today.</p><p>WHO WE ARE At Can Art, we take pride in our dedication to quality, innovation, and sustainability.</p><p>With the versatility to adapt to a wide range of profiles, Can Art serves the Architectural, Automotive, Consumer base and Industrial Distribution sectors.</p><p>WHAT WE OFFER We aim for a work environment that prioritizes your well-being and professional growth.</p><p>Competitive pay and comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits.</p><p>Training and career development – we're committed to helping you grow and succeed.</p><p>RRSP matching from day one – to help you plan for your future.</p><p>Exclusive perks through Perkopolis – enjoy discounts on travel, entertainment, shopping, and more.</p><p>Fun, inclusive employee events – like our summer BBQs and festive holiday parties.</p><p>Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – confidential support whenever you need it.</p><p>Employee safety shoe and prescription safety glasses reimbursement POSITION SUMMARY The Chemical Technician is responsible for properly maintaining and troubleshooting Can Art’s Anodizing Process Tanks and Wastewater Treatment System.</p><p>WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Perform daily chemical analysis of all anodizing process baths using titration and other laboratory methods.</p><p>Monitor bath chemistry and maintain process parameters within specification.</p><p>Calculate and perform chemical additions to process tanks.</p><p>Monitor, test, and adjust the Wastewater Treatment System to ensure environmental compliance.</p><p>Collect and record laboratory data accurately in process logs and electronic systems.</p><p>Perform calibration and verification of laboratory instruments including pH meters, conductivity meters, spectrophotometers, and other analytical equipment.</p><p>Assist in troubleshooting process chemistry, coating quality, and customer quality issues.</p><p>Conduct routine inspections of chemical storage, pumps, dosing systems, and process equipment.</p><p>Clean and maintain filter presses and other wastewater treatment equipment.</p><p>Support preventive maintenance activities related to chemical systems.</p><p>Maintain laboratory housekeeping and comply with all environmental and safety regulations.</p><p>Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to process chemistry and product quality.</p><p>Provide weekend coverage for routine laboratory and chemical maintenance activities as required.</p><p>Perform other job duties as assigned.</p><p>Responsible to follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all Can Art Company Policies.</p><p>WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Diploma or Degree in Chemical Laboratory Technology, Chemical Engineering Technology, Chemistry, Environmental Technology, or a related field preferred.</p><p>Electroplating or anodizing experience would be an asset.</p><p>SKILLS REQUIRED Strong understanding of inorganic chemistry and analytical laboratory techniques.</p><p>Experience performing titrations, solution preparation, and chemical calculations.</p><p>Experience using, calibrating, and maintaining laboratory analytical equipment (e.g., pH meters, conductivity meters, spectrophotometers).</p><p>Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.</p><p>Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.</p><p>Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.</p><p>Experience with routine maintenance operations is an asset.</p><p>Eff- Location Mississauga, ON
