Job details

We are looking for 2 farm labourers. The ideal individual must be physically fit, reliable, hardworking, detailed, mature and work well with others. Having the ability to work with your hands, to be on your feet for long periods of time, to work outdoors and in a rural environment and keep up with a fast-paced work environment is an assest. No previous knowledge and work experience in agriculture or farming is required. Tasks: * Planting, hoeing, cultivating, harvesting vegetables * Assembling farm structures, like string trellises, fencing, signage, short & tall greenhouse hoops * Weeding through hand hoeing, hand pulling, hand pruning weeds from crops * Hand picking vegetables * Examine produce for quality and prepare for market * Using simple hand tools (shovels, garden hoes, hand pruners, pliers, hammers, manual post pounders) to complete various jobs around the farm Working Conditions: * Standing, walking, reaching, bending, crouching * Repetitive motions to perform repetitive tasks for long durations of time * Pushing/pulling carts/wheel barrows * Climbing into and out of different farm vehicles, farm wagons, farm equipment * Lifting, moving and handling heavy objects (objects weighing 50 lbs or more) * Periodic extended work hours required to meet farming deadlines from planting, harvesting or delays due to weather * Exposure to cold, wet, damp, rainy, hot, sunny, humid, windy, extreme heat environmental conditions Job Details: * Hours: 8AM - 5PM (hours may extend longer during planting or harvesting) * Work Language: English * 40 - 50 hours per week * Must have reliable transportation, buses and public transit are not available in area * $18.00/hour, bi-weekly, must be legal to work in Canada * Employment Duration: summer until the end of October * Start ASAP located in Markham Hiring Process: Applicants must email their resumes to be considered.
