The Hamlet of Qikiqtarjuaq and the Nattivak Hunters and Trappers Organization are providing letters of support for a proposed deep water port in the community. The Qikiqtaaluk Corporation has requested $150M from the federal government for the project’s $350M first phase and hopes to begin construction this year.

The federal government is providing hundreds of millions in funding to infrastructure projects in Canada's North, including $94M for power plant upgrades in four Nunavut communities. Three new Nunavut water treatment facilities will also receive a share of $277M dedicated to water, sewer, and road projects. The community of Cambridge Bay is planning to build a new youth centre, replacing a building that burned down in 2022. The hamlet is close to awarding the construction contract, supported by $6M in municipal, territorial, and federal funding, along with contribution from the Kitikmeot Inuit Association. The Kivalliq Health Centre in Rankin Inlet has received a new portable head magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) device. The MRI machine is expected to reduce the need for medical travel by providing easier access to head injury diagnostics in the region. Trained, local diagnostic imaging technicians will operate the equipment, while radiologists in Ottawa will provide reports on the imaging results.
