Eddie Bauer, an American outdoor apparel chain, will be closing all 200 of its North American stores as it seeks bankruptcy protection. The company has one Winnipeg location, in the CF Polo Park shopping centre.

Project planners and volunteers in Flin Flon have opened their new snow lodge attraction, an entertainment venue constructed from harvested snow and ice. Organizers hope to eventually scale up the project to create a seasonal ice hotel.
