<h3>Job Description</h3><div>Job Description<div><p>he Accounting Assistant plays a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of Canadian Smart Systems' financial records. Reporting directly to the Controller, this position is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting functions, managing financial transactions, assisting with payroll, and ensuring timely billing and collections.</p><p><br /></p><p>The ideal candidate is highly organized, experienced with QuickBooks, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strict confidentiality.</p><p><br /></p><p><b><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></b></p><ul><li>Financial Administration</li><li>Perform account reconciliations and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.</li><li>Process and record accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.</li><li>Track company expenses and monitor transaction activity to support accurate reporting.</li><li>Maintain organized financial records and documentation in compliance with company policies.</li><li>Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><b><strong>Billing & Collections</strong></b></p><ul><li>Generate and distribute customer invoices.</li><li>Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue accounts.</li><li>Resolve billing discrepancies and maintain positive customer relationships.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><b><strong>Payroll & Reporting</strong></b></p><ul><li>Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.</li><li>Prepare reports and spreadsheets to support management decision-making.</li><li>Verify payroll data and maintain employee records related to compensation.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><b><strong>Administrative Support</strong></b></p><ul><li>Support the Controller with special projects and financial analysis.</li><li>Collaborate with operations, project management, and sales teams to ensure accurate financial tracking.</li><li>Help improve accounting procedures and maintain financial controls.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><b><strong>Qualifications</strong></b></p><p><b><strong>Required</strong></b></p><ul><li>Minimum 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.</li><li>Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</li><li>Strong experience using <b><strong>QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop</strong></b>.</li><li>Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.</li><li>Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.</li><li>Excellent data entry accuracy and attention to detail.</li><li>Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.</li><li>Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><b><strong>Preferred</strong></b></p><ul><li>Experience with payroll processing.</li><li>Experience working in a construction, technology, or service-based business.</li><li>Familiarity with job costing and project-based accounting.</li><li>Knowledge of GST/HST filings and Canadian accounting practices.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><b><strong>What We Offer</strong></b></p><ul><li>Competitive compensation based on experience.</li><li>Career growth opportunities within a growing Canadian technology company.</li><li>Supportive and collaborative team environment.</li><li>Ongoing professional development and training.</li><li>Opportunity to contribute to impactful projects across Canada.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><b><strong>Join Canadian Smart Systems and play an essential role in supporting the financial success of one of Canada's growing technology integration companies.</strong></b></p></div>\nCompany Description<div><p>Canadian Smart Systems is a leading provider of integrated technology solutions across Canada, specializing in security systems, access control, networking, audio/video, automation, and communication te- Location Toronto, ON
