Position: Financial Analyst Department: Ermineskin Cree Nation Finance Department Open Date: June 22, 2026 Closing Date: Open until filled The Ermineskin Cree Nation (Reserve #138) is in Maskwacis, Alberta, about fifty miles south of Edmonton, halfway between the towns of Ponoka and Wetaskiwin. The many departments of Ermineskin Cree Nation provide services and support to Ermineskin Band citizens living on and off reserve. *Job Summary*: As the next step of restructuring of Finance Department, ECN is looking to fill another *Financial Analyst *position. As the Department is evolving, the candidate is expected to be flexible to be assigned for a role that will be a close match of their skills and the Department?s need. Reports to: CFO Duties and Responsibilities: 1 Generate periodic financial reports and review with Executive team and leadership 2 Ensure funding and budget allocations are up to date for all program and project 3 Ensure revenue accruals are adjusted as per changes in funding amounts 4 Ensure accuracy of project and program transaction coding and oversee coding corrections 5 Respond to requests for transactional and reporting detail from departments and senior management 6 Carry out periodic system maintenance as necessary and as approved by CFO 7 Forecast project and program revenue and expenses for operational planning and budget reallocation purposes 8 Compile information for internal and external auditors 9 Share relevant GL details to assist with various reporting requirements of department managers and directors 10 Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure all required budget adjustments are completed 11 Assist to prepare working papers, reconciliation of accounts and analyses 12 Be a contributing member to assist with internal audit and year end audit 13 Actively participate in cross training activities to build a strong Finance team and foster growth opportunities 14 Assist other members of the ECN Finance team as necessary 15 Be knowledgeable of ECN?s Custom Law, policies and procedures 16 Carry out all other duties as assigned by the supervisor 17 Must adhere to ECN policies, Custom Law, Constitution and Financial law. Qualifications & Skills: - Related post-secondary education - Minimum three (3) years of related accounting experience - Intermediate user of Excel - Preference to a candidate pursuing or holding an accounting designation (CPA) Requirements: - Be positive, self-motivated, and adept at learning new technologies and techniques - Ability to work alone or in a team environment - Exceptional leadership, organizational, communication and time management skills - Well organized and efficient with time management - Pursuing an accounting designation is an asset Compensation package: Between $48.84 to $54.95. All full time permanent employees are eligible to participate in ECN?S pension plan contribution (matched up to 9%) and extended health benefit at no cost. ECN currently practices a 7-hour workday (8:30 to 4:30 with a one-hour lunch-break), and the office is closed every other Friday.
