The South Shore Family Resource AssociationThe South Shore Family Resource Association - is currently accepting applications for an INTERIM Parenting Journey Home Visitor in Queens CountyThe Parenting Journey program is a voluntary program and is intended to provide support to families experiencing needs and challenges that may impact overall family functioning by providing home-based visits.The Home Visitor will be responsible for:Offering home visiting to families identified through family centered, strengths-based approaches,Screening, family assessment, goal setting, referrals to other community services, documentation, and case conferencing.The candidate will also be required to participate in ongoing training and professional development.Qualifications:An undergraduate degree/diploma in Social Sciences or a combination of education and relevant experience.Knowledge and skills in child and youth developmentKnowledge and understanding of positive parenting and parent/child relationships.Knowledge of the principles of adult education.Experience in working with families.Experience in working with children and youth.Experience in working in a community-based setting.Strong knowledge and understanding of community development principles and experience in applying them.Excellent time management and organizational skills.Excellent problem-solving skills.Experience with trauma informed practices and approaches.Ability to build relationships while maintaining healthy boundaries.Ability to work independently and within a team.Knowledge of the services and support for families in Queens County.Basic computer skills.A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.Hours, Renumeration and Start Date:*This is an interim position to cover for an absence;* but will be for a minimum of 6 weeks.30 hours per week.$24/hour.A anticipated start date - June 2026, this term position will end August 21st with possibility of extension at that time.Please forward resumes to:By Mail: South Shore Family Resource Association - serving Digby, Lunenburg, Queens, and Shelburne Counties.Dale Knowles, Executive Director821 King Street, Unit 11Bridgewater, NS B4V 1B7Fax: 1-902-543-1828E-Mail: SSRAED@bellaliant.comApplications must be received no later than June 28th.We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.The South Shore Family Resource Association is committed to being a workforce that is free of discrimination and values equity, diversity, and inclusion.
