Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Professionalism in customer service. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform brake adjustments. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks). Documentation knowledge: Driver logbook. Maintenance and repair reports. Trip reports. Communication systems experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Transportation/travel experience: Long-haul. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding.
