Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Residential. Horticulture and/or gardening. Tasks: Direct planting of trees, gardens and lawns. Organize planting of trees, gardens and lawns. Plan and direct grounds maintenance. Plan, manage and supervise landscape construction work. Maintain work records and logs. Repair and maintain equipment. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Supervise nursery and greenhouse workers. Assist in pruning trees, shrubs and plants. Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures. Trim trees to achieve the desired pruning objective such as crown cleaning, thinning, raising, reduction, restoration, espalier pruning, vista pruning. Supervision: 3-4 people. Equipment and machinery experience: Weed trimmer/edger. Lawn mowers. Pressure washers. Area of specialization: Lawn care. Grounds maintenance. Horticulture. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Ability to distinguish between colours. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
