Job details
Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry. Tasks: Examine patients' eyes, conduct tests and use specialized instruments to determine visual efficiency. Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses and other vision aids to correct patients' vision. Prescribe treatment to conserve, improve and correct vision and other ocular disorders. Refer patients to ophthalmologists or other physicians and surgeons when ocular or other diseases are found. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. Membership in the Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO). Screening questions: Are you authorized to work in Canada?. Do you have the required certifications listed in the job posting?. Experience: Experience an asset.
