Accounting Manager *BARRIERBOSS Fencing Ltd. ? West Kelowna, BC (in-office)* _$60,000 ? $75,000/year ? Full-time, permanent_ *About us* BARRIERBOSS Fencing Ltd. is a growing manufacturing company with operations across Canada and expansion underway into the U.S. market. We?re building out our accounting and finance function to support the next stage of growth, and we?re looking for an Accounting Manager who can own the day-to-day accounting operations end-to-end. *About the role* This is a hands-on role where you?ll own our accounting operations, supervise the AP clerk and other members of the Finance team, work alongside our CFO, and be the person the rest of the team turns to for accounting judgment calls. You?ll also have the opportunity to build and document the processes that will carry this function through the next few years of growth. If you like the idea of owning a function, setting it up properly, and having real impact on how the business runs, this role is for you. *What you?ll do* * Own the accounts email inbox and handle vendor communications, escalations, and judgment calls * Supervise and support the AP clerk and other members of the Finance team in processing invoices, expenses, and bill payments * Run or oversee payroll, including off-cycle runs, ROEs, and year-end processes * Lead PO matching and invoice review, ensuring accuracy before payments are released * Execute month-end close and prepare monthly financial statements for review by our CFO * Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations * Design, document, and enforce accounting processes * Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial reporting * Implement and manage AP automation tools (Dext, or similar) * Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure adherence to regulatory standards * Support the CFO with financial reporting packages, bank financing documentation, grant applications, and U.S. expansion work *What we?re looking for* * 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a small or mid-sized business where you?ve worn multiple hats * Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online * Experience running payroll in Canada (CRA remittances, T4s, ROEs) * Experience supervising direct reports, or clear readiness to step into that * Comfort building processes from the ground up ? you don?t need an established playbook to do good work * Experience establishing or maintaining internal controls (segregation of duties, approval workflows, reconciliation routines) * Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain accurate records * Well versed with technology and accounting software, and comfortable using AI workflows * Experience implementing or working with AP automation tools (Ramp, Dext, Stampli, or similar) is a strong asset * Exposure to U.S. accounting or cross-border operations is a bonus but not required * CPA designation is not required ? we care more about practical experience and ownership *What we offer* * Competitive salary ($60,000 ? $75,000 based on experience) * A comprehensive benefits package that supports your health and wellbeing * Quarterly bonus program * Meaningful ownership of a function, with room to grow as the company grows * A supportive structure: CFO for strategic oversight, and a Finance team reporting to you * In-office role at our West Kelowna location with a close-knit team *How to apply* Submit your resume and a short note telling us about a process you built or improved, and the impact it had.
