Education: College/CEGEP. Tasks: Administer evaluative tests. Administer tests using equipment, instruct patients on test procedures and record results, and monitor, check and calibrate auditory equipment. Assist health care professionals. Examine adult clients to assess hearing loss, recommend type of hearing instrument, take earmold impressions and perform follow-up examinations and readjustments. Examine the patient. Follow through on treatment programs with patients. Maintain prescription records . Make decisions on tests and procedures. Clean and maintain equipment. Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies. Process files and paperwork. Take earmold impressions and fit and adjust hearing instruments. Organize and maintain inventory. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Licensure by a provincial/territorial regulatory body for Hearing Instrument Practitioner.
