Education: Bachelor's degree. Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged. Tasks: Monitor patients and advise physician of any changes in patients' condition. Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions. Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families. Dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician. Provide nursing care. Supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Licensure as a Registered Nurse by provincial or territorial authorities. Area of specialization: Geriatrics.
