Job details
Education: College/CEGEP. Work setting: Willing to relocate. Hospital/medical facility or clinic. Nursing home/home for the aged. Chronic or long-term care facilities/centres. Hospital or home for the aged. Tasks: Administer medications. Apply aseptic techniques including sterile dressing. Conduct specimen collection. Ensure infection control. Monitor nutritional intake. Observe and record medication's therapeutic and side effects . Record medication's therapeutic and side effects observations in patient files. Take vital signs. Monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy. Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families. Provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures. Monitor patients' progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and consult with appropriate members of healthcare team. Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions. Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families. Dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician. Address and document symptoms and changes in patients' conditions. Provide nursing care. Operate or monitor medical apparatus or equipment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate. CPR Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Area of specialization: Geriatrics. Palliative care. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Immunization records. Eligible for professional liability insurance. Tuberculosis test. Adult Abuse Registry check. Vulnerable sector check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation.
