<p>NON-UNION<p>TEMPORARY MENTAL HEALTH WORKER <p>July 2 - August<p>30, 2024 <p>The<p>WECDSB is currently recruiting for the position of Temporary Mental Health<p>Worker reporting to the Superintendent of Education, Student Achievement and<p>the Mental Health Lead. The Mental Health Worker will be an integral member of<p>the Mental Health team as an integral contributor within a multidisciplinary framework (understanding all three Tiers of<p>Interventions associated with the WECDSB Mental Health strategy). <p>General Responsibilities: <p>Under<p>the direction of the Mental Health Lead, the Mental Health Worker will provide<p>mental health support to students throughout July, 2024 and August, 2024. This will involve a service approach that<p>will be based on needs within the system by providing:<p>? <p>brief,<p>solution-focused counseling (4-6 sessions,<p>time-limited, goal specific) to students who have been referred (eg. 1:1<p>support, group support, check-ins, etc.);<p>? <p>prevention, early intervention and crisis intervention, as needed;<p>? <p>working with the<p>Mental Health Lead to prepare student wellness sessions;<p>? <p>following established<p>protocols (suicide, safe schools, bereavement, etc.); and<p>? <p>developing proactive<p>interventions (groups) once student based needs have been identified.<p>Remuneration is set at $51.82<p>per hour. Mental Health Workers will be<p>paid for 7 hours a day (8:30 am to 3:30 pm) and are expected to be available a<p>minimum of 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) beginning July 2,<p>2024 and ending August 30, 2024. The schedule will be agreed upon hire. <p>Qualifications and Requirem ents: <p>? <p>Regulated Mental Health Workers<p>including members of the Ontario College of Social Work and Social Service<p>Workers, the College of Psychologists of Ontario or the College of Registered<p>Psychotherapists of Ontario<p>o <p>Registered or eligible for<p>registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario<p>? <p>A valid Ontario Driver's License and<p>access to a car<p>? <p>Experience working with youth from<p>diverse backgrounds <p>? <p>Ability to collect, track and<p>analyze data<p>? <p>Demonstrated ability to work<p>collaboratively in teams as well as independently<p>? <p>Solid interpersonal and verbal, and<p>written communication skills<p>? <p>Proven problem-solving and<p>decision-making ability<p>The following would be considered an asset: <p>? <p>Group facilitation skills<p>? <p>A.S.I.S.T and /or SafeTALK training<p>or similar experience<p>? <p>Training in Cognitive Behaviour<p>Therapy (CBT)<p>? <p>Familiarity with Google applications<p>Applications<p>must be received via the Apply to Education website on or before May 31, 2024 at 4:00 pm .
