Nickel concentrate from the fly-in, fly-out Voisey's Bay operation is shipped to our state-of-art Long Harbour Processing Plant where it is refined into low-carbon and high-purity nickel rounds, cobalt rounds and copper cathodes.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Operational Services Student ? Fall 2024 to join our Vale Newfoundland and Labrador Long Harbour Operations. This is a fixed term (4 month) position. This position will be on a Monday to Friday schedule based out of the St. John's office.As a Logistics Student, you will have the opportunity to further your development by providing day-to-day support for various projects and initiatives within the Long Harbour ? Operational Services Department. From operations to leadership development, diversity & inclusion, and culture, you will have a holistic and enriching experience like no other. Additionally, in this position, you will:Coordination of Inbound Freight by air/ground/ocean to support Long Harbour and Voisey's Bay Operations.Coordination of outbound finished product domestically and internationallyPreparation of required shipping documentationCoordination and support for customs related inquiries and documentation for both import and export of materialsCoordination of Chartered vessels for Nickel Concentrates, Quicklime, Sulphuric Acid, and other cargoes as necessaryContainer ManagementOther Duties as requiredAbout YouEducation:Currently enrolled as a student in a Bachelor of Commerce (Co-op) Program. Concentration in Supply Chain field is preferred.Skills:Competent knowledge of Contract Administration and management functions including Supply Chain.Time management skills to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, safely, and efficiently. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Strong proficiency in Excel is an asset. Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
