Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Dusty. Tasks: Discuss upholstery fabric, colour and style with customers. Provide cost estimate for upholstering furniture or other items. Replace worn-out webbing, springs and other furniture parts. Lay out, cut, fabricate and install upholstery. Tack, glue or sew ornamental trim, braids or buttons. Repair furniture frames and refinish wood surfaces. Operate sewing machines or sew by hand. Garnish the bottom and the back of a seat with interoven rattan. Type of industry experience: Furniture and fixtures manufacturing company. Furniture upholstery and repair shop. Specialty seat manufacturing company. Specialization or experience: Antique furniture and furnishings. Seats for stadiums, halls etc.. Furniture. Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Ability to distinguish between colours. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?.
