Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Tasks: Assess clients' cognitive, social and emotional barriers to establish adaptation goals. Assess people's physical limitations, orientation abilities and mobility to establish client rehabilitation. Instruct students in reading and writing braille. Instruct students in lip-reading, finger spelling and sign language. Instruct in the use of rehabilitative techniques, prosthetic devices and wheelchairs. Instruct students in formation and development of sound for speech using hearing aids and other devices. Assist students to develop life skills. Provide job training and support. Collaborate with specialists to develop programs for clients' special needs. Develop individualized education and intervention plans based on special needs of client to facilitate their readaptation and independence objectives. Supervise office and volunteer staff. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
