Superior-Greenstone District School Board<p> Is seeking applications for:<p> Non-Union Anishinaabe Program Facilitator <p>Position/Vacancy: <p>1 - Program Facilitator, Summer Anishinaabe Language, Immersion Program<p>(4-day Summer Immersion Program, plus 2-day planning - 6 days total)<p>Site: <p> George O'Neill Public School POSITION DETAILS/QUALIFICATIONS <p>Summary: <p>Superior-District School Board invites candidates with a passion for supporting the children of tomorrow, to participate in this summers Anishinaabemowin Immersion Camp taking place in July. We are seeking a motivated individual who identi?es as Anishinaabe to work as an Immersion Program Facilitator. This position will require the facilitator to work with language speakers to develop programming based on language speakers gifts/strengths in culture and tradition and oversee the programming of the immersion camp. The successful candidate will work with children between the ages of ?ve (5) to nine (9). The successful candidate will have a basic to ?uent understanding of Anishinaabemowin, experience teaching and facilitating.<p>For information, please reach out to Manager of Indigenous Education, Shy-Anne Bartlett at sbartlett@sgdsb.on.ca Quali?cations: <p> Self-identify as Anishinaabe and be ?uent in Anishinaabemowin as a ?rst or second language.<p> Experience working within a language immersion learning environment with primary aged children.<p> Supporting Fluent speakers in conversing in Anishinaabemowin for children to hear and interact in Anishinaabemowin (students are allowed to speak in English or Anishinaabemowin); Responsibilities: Provide indirect support to students engaged in the immersion program.<p> Communicate with the support team to regularly share school needs, challenges, and successes.<p> Coordinate program logistics, including scheduling, and resources.<p> Support language speakers in the design and development of immersive learning curriculum and activities that align with program objectives and participant needs.<p> Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports related to program activities, and outcomes. Additional Competencies and Skills Display excellent interpersonal skills while building positive relationships.<p> An open to learning stance and asset-oriented approach to students.<p> Demonstrated strong communication and collaboration skills.<p> An ability to build positive professional relationships. Organizational strategies and skills as a self-directed learner.<p> Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and System LeadersApplications MUST include a complete summary of education and work experience.
