*Job description*
*Beach Point Processing Company* processes wild caught, North Atlantic lobster from Canada and Maine. Years spent perfecting production methods, optimizing specifications and improving quality have resulted in a wide variety of frozen lobster products that exceed our customers expectations. We are seeking a Power Engineer to join our team.
*Position Purpose*
- To support and work with the Maintenance Manager and Plant Manager to ensure the safe and efficient operations of plant equipment and systems to ensure product is meeting established standards.
*Key Accountabilities*
- Knowledge in mechanical engineering, project management, facilities management, systems engineering, equipment maintenance, and an ability to provide superior leadership skills.
- Management of multiple projects and excellent communication skills to interact with all operational departments.
- Well versed in safety standards and ability to communicate safety principles.
- Clear understanding of all manufacturing operations, cost implications and efficiency requirements to ensure continuous improvement initiatives.
*Responsibilities*
- Perform safe operation and maintenance of all equipment such as: ammonia refrigeration plant, high pressure steam boilers, all Freon type refrigeration units, heating, air conditioning units, air compressors, air handling units and other accessories.
- Provide guidance on all operational-related projects to meet capability, output, facility, and systems requirements, increase efficiencies, support safety, validation, and meet goals and objectives that contribute to the overall success of the organization.
- Work closely with QA team to ensure specifications and quality standards are met such as the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR) and the company?s high marketplace standards for food safety (BRCGS).
- Maintain logbook of the daily operations and maintenance of the equipment. Prepare all required equipment for annual inspection.
- Keep and maintain building fire extinguishers.
- Report and address unsafe conditions immediately.
- Other duties as assigned.
*Skills, Experience & Qualifications*
- Excellent communication skills; both written and oral.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision; Take initiative to achieve results.
- Interpersonal skills to maintain positive employee relations.
- Competent with numbers and documentation.
- Dedicated to the goals of the company.
*Required*
- Certified 4th Class Power Engineer.
*Preferred*
- Previous experience would be an asset.
*Work Environment*
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to wet, cool and/or humid conditions.
- The environment is extremely fast paced with a lot of movement throughout, in and out of the building.
- The noise level in the work environment is often moderate to loud.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00-$27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 ? 50 per week
