Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged. Tasks: Administer medications. Conduct specimen collection. Ensure infection control. Monitor nutritional intake. Record medication's therapeutic and side effects observations in patient files. Take vital signs. Monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy. Provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures. Monitor patients' progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and consult with appropriate members of healthcare team. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate. CPR Certificate.
