Responsibilities
Tasks
-
Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies

Prepare production and other reports
-
Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers

Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units
-
Route goods to appropriate storage areas

Record shortages and reject damaged goods
-
Prepare bills of lading, invoices and other shipping documents
-
Oversee loading and unloading of goods
-
Operate forklift
-
Maintain internal record-keeping system

Keep a record of items received and delivered

Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents

Examine ingredients or finished products to ensure conformance to company standards

Assemble containers and crates

Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants

Advise supervisors of ingredient or product deficiencies

Arrange for shipping documentation and the tracking and tracing of goods in transit

Pack, weigh and stack bound and finished products on pallet for shipment
