The Niagara Catholic District School Board invites applications for the position of Summer School Vice-Principal with our Continuing Education Department. <p>WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT: Manage daily operations of the summer school site(s)<p> Site programs include: Teacher taught Credit Classes, International and Indigenous Languages Elementary Program, and Con Eds Summer Learning Programs <p> Review student performance<p> Effectively communicate and work with Summer School ERT<p> Effectively process Field trip/Excursion requests, budget and submission for approval<p> Effectively deal with all potential student issues that may arise including disciplinary behaviours<p> Effectively deal with and communicate with parent(s)/guardian(s) phone calls, contacts, and meetings<p> Effectively communicate with site staff regularly and conduct meetings as required<p> Resolve any transportation issues that may arise before, during and after summer school hours<p> Process and arrange for materials and equipment with home school for classroom requirements<p> Maintain order and discipline among staff and students, within the site<p> Assume responsibility for health and safety issues within the summer school site<p> Assume responsibility as site contact for Facilities and Technology<p> Supervise staff at assigned site, monitoring program delivery and assist teaching staff as necessary<p> May be requested to perform other duties as assigned by the Summer School PrincipalWHAT YOU BRING: Religious Education Qualifications<p> o Part II of the OECTA/OCSTA Religion Course; OR<p> o Four (4) full graduate courses in Theology/Christian Education toward a degree or diploma in Theology from a Catholic University; OR<p> o Part I of the OECTA/OCSTA Religion course and two (2) graduate courses in Theology/Christian Education toward a degree or diploma in Theology from a Catholic University<p> Ontario School Principals Qualifications Part I and Part II as per Ontario Regulations 184/96 under the Ontario College of Teachers Act<p> Part I of the Special Education Course<p> A minimum of five (5) years successful teaching and/or acceptable related experience in at least two (2) different divisions (Primary, Junior, Intermediate, or Senior)<p> A positive recommendation from the candidates Principal and/or an appropriate Superintendent of Education<p> A participating member of a Catholic community as attested by a parish priest<p> Successful participation in the Leadership Identification Program or an equivalent leadership program<p> A copy of the most recent Performance Appraisal<p> A copy of the Annual Growth Plan<p> Excellent problem solving, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills<p> Experience in a supervisory role an asset<p> Knowledge of Board Policies<p> Basic knowledge of OH&S Act, ESA Act and School Emergency Response Plan<p> Commitment and dedication to the mission and vision of Catholic education<p> Willingness to accept responsibility from the Catholic community and to exercise Catholic leadership within this community<p> Personal faith commitment<p> Involvement within their community and/or parish <p> Catholic vision<p> Catholic leadership<p> Knowledge<p> Competence<p> Personal qualities<p> Educational skill<p> Management skill<p> Relationship-buildingHOURS and DURATION: Contingent on sufficient program/course enrolment July 4, 2023 July 28, 2023, 7:45 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.<p> Total Hours: 123.5 <p> LOCATION(S) : Please note: Sites may change based on availability of program/course enrolment and needs.
