CNI offers infrastructure support, solutions and network build in both wired and wireless sectors across Canada. We are currently recruiting individuals who possess the skill, attitude, and passion to join a growing team in the greater Vancouver Area as a *Telecom Field Technician*
The position requires an individual who embraces CNI?s culture of maintaining and providing our clients a high level of quality, service and safety standards while maintaining client targets.
As a CNI Telecom Field Technician, your responsibilities will include various tasks throughout a work week that may include equipment installations, DC power, both copper and fibre cross-connects and various other telecom related work orders. Working with a team and also independently, technicians will often visit rooftop/ground shelters, central offices, co-locations and PoP sites across the greater Vancouver and surrounding areas. Some travel may be required.
*Potential candidates should possess most of the following attributes.*
* Strong cabling fundamentals
* Good understanding of network infrastructures
* Demonstrate proficiency and adaptation to various telecom test sets
* Strong troubleshooting skills
* Good understanding of RF principals
* Knowledge and understanding of LTE / 5G networks
* Knowledge of microwave transmission equipment, optical fibre, and TCP/IP
* Understanding of DC power plants, rectifiers, and battery strings.
* Installation of racks, cabinets and cabling of equipment.
* Run, terminate, and test cables, both copper and fiber.
* Basic understanding of AC electrical principles.
* Demonstrate proficiency with internal applications.
*Work Conditions:*
* Able to meet physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, and climbing poles with the use of a ladder.
* Able to lift 24ft to 28ft of ladder weighing between 55lbs to 75lbs.
* Able to work in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, etc.)
* Able to travel to customers? houses or place of business to install equipment for the customer.
*Duties, Responsibilities:*
* Receive and execute trouble tickets, by means of troubleshooting faults and remove/replace faulty equipment.
* Interface daily with the NOC, Field Operations team, and Engineering groups to resolve network faults while respecting live traffic on the network.
* Execution of preventative maintenance routines that may include verifying alarms for communications, mechanical and environmental points within a cell site.
* Completion and submission of reports, documentation and or close outs
* Always maintain the highest level of quality standards as outlined by CNI and our clients
* Adaptation to both individual deliverables and team responsibilities.
* Willingness to workdays, evenings, nights and weekends.
* Valid class 5 driver?s license.
