Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Select mineral treatment machinery and equipment
  • Determine the appropriate means of safely and efficiently mining deposits
  • Design shafts, ventilation and haulage systems
  • Prepare operations and project estimates, schedules and reports
  • Implement and co-ordinate mine safety programs
  • Report any malfunctions to supervisor
  • Report and document investigations and conclusions/recommendations
  • Prepare proposals
  • Establish and maintain contact with suppliers
  • Develop risk management plans
  • Determine layout and installation procedures
  • Develop data, process and network models to optimize architecture and to evaluate the performance and reliability of designs
  • Prepare reports and audit findings
  • Conduct site visits to gather relevant information
  • Develop and conduct design verification simulations and prototype bench tests of components
