Raw materials and finished products from Vale's Sudbury and Newfoundland and Labrador operations are transported to Port Colborne for processing.Applying the latest technologies to sustainably mine the critical minerals that power electric vehicles, build renewable energy solutions, and help develop life-saving medical equipment is at the heart of what we do.We invite you to be part of our evolution.Our Team: The Operations team is integral to the safe and efficient operation of our Port Colborne Refinery.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking an Operations Superintendent Process II to join our Port Colborne Refinery in Port Colborne, Ontario. This is a permanent position.Reporting to the Manager of Port Colborne Refinery, the Operations Superintendent's primary purpose is to implement, manage and coordinate the production and operations of the Cobalt Refinery safely. The position will allow opportunities to strategically improve the safe and efficient production at the Port Colborne Refinery.In this position you will:Audit and analyze systems within the area(s) of accountability to achieve the following outputs:Zero harm to employees, the business, the environment, and the community, Provide the required direction and change management skills to develop and implement the required tactical and strategic projects to achieve operational goals.All projects must focus on improving business systems and processes and aligning best practices to improve safety, quality, production, and cost performance in the short and long term. Ensuring all activities follow VPS (Vale Production System).Audit and analyze KPIs and trends in safety, maintenance, cost, quality, and schedule compliance.Develop the area's annual execution plan and develops area specific goals and objectives to achieve the annual execution plan.Provide input on annual cost and resource budget plans and manage budget within established targets.Develop weekly and monthly production and/or maintenance plans and update forecasts as required. Call out when plans and/or forecasts will not be achieved.Manage area production and/or maintenance performance, and asset integrity, to confirm that processes are in place to maintain the plant and equipment, sustain/build capability, and to achieve the targets outlined in the Execution plan.Contributes to Asset Integrity reviews and supports development of action plans to address 'at risk' assets.Provide performance feedback to team members and coach and counsel employees on the standards of behavior, and take corrective action as required.Work with the HSE Committee to develop actions to improve safety, health and environmental performance and verify compliance with established Service Level Agreements (SLA) and required standards.About YouEducation:Post-secondary education in trades, engineering, or related technical area.Experience:Minimum 5 years of supervisory and industrial experiencePreferred business and process knowledge of hydrometallurgical processingSkills:Must have strong organization and time leadership skills.High initiative and can self-direct to accomplish goals with minimum supervision.Robust oral and written communication skills.Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products.Strong drive for results.High level of confiden
