*About the Position:*
*Finance Manager*
Our Daily Bread Ministries Canada seeks an individual to oversee all financial aspects of our organization. The Finance Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring our ministry's financial health and sustainability as we continue to expand our impact across Canada. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance, exceptional leadership abilities, and a passion for our mission and vision. They will maintain accurate and timely general ledgers, perform advanced and specialized accounting assignments usually of a highly involved and confidential nature, obtain, analyze, and consolidate multiple department information, and prepare reports and statements. The Finance Manager will be the primary contact for the external auditors during the annual audit.
*Key Job Responsibilities Include:*
* Responsible for the accurate accounting (recording and reporting) of financial activity relating to Our Daily Bread Ministries Canada.
* Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash management and financial reporting.
* Ensure adherence to the financial controls established by Our Daily Bread Ministries Canada to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks.
* Conduct periodic reviews and audits to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
* Analyze financial data to present reports and strategic recommendations to the executive team and board of directors, providing insights into the organization?s financial health and performance.
* Collaborate with senior management to develop annual budgets and long-term financial strategies that support organizational growth and sustainability in line with the organization?s mission and objectives.
* Maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets to support strategic decision-making.
* Identify trends, perform cost-benefit analysis, and recommend improvements to enhance profitability.
* Prepare G/L, trial balance, and other supporting work papers/documents for the annual audit, working with auditors throughout the process each year.
* Review deposit totals and compare with CRM member activity, review invoices before payment, review of credit card transactions for proper allocations.
* Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
* Reconcile bank accounts monthly along with debit/credit/electronic donations.
* Prepare and post month-end journal entries.
* Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
* Prepare and file appropriate governmental reports, tax payments, and PSB rebates.
* Stay up-to-date on federal, provincial, and local labour laws, tax regulations, and payroll-related compliance requirements.
* Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees, including regular staff, contractors, and consultants.
* Oversee payroll software or systems used for processing payroll, ensuring they are efficient, reliable, confidential, secure, and compliant with organizational needs and regulatory requirements.
* Maintenance of fixed assets
* Manage grant funding, including (but not limited to) proposal development, budgeting, reporting and compliance with grant requirements.
*Education, Knowledge and Experience:*
* Graduate degree in accounting; CPA experience required.
