The successful candidate will be responsible to provide advice, coaching, guidance and support on issues related to all local and central collective agreements, board policies and employment legislation. The incumbent is also responsible for assisting with the development and maintenance of effective day to day employee relations. The manager also supports strategic planning, budget development, work planning, human resources, staff development and change management and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to build working relationships that are mutually beneficial.Description:Manages and leads staff and specific functional units (e.g. Labour/Employee Relations, WSIB Administration, Attendance Support, Disability Management and Health and Safety) within the Human Resources area including providing support and coaching to staff and ensures that system policies and procedures are implemented effectively and in accordance with the respective legislation.<p>Coordinates and leads collective bargaining programs for all unionized employee groups including acting as spokesperson for the Board in negotiating the Collective Agreements/Terms and Conditions of Employment. Develops the Boards negotiation positions, ensuring input from the relevant stakeholders, and considering contentious points from the Collective Agreements, existing and pending legislation, current Labour relations issues, and cost constraints.<p>Oversees all functions related to the recruitment and selection process for all academic staff. Responsible for the development and implementation of hiring practices and procedures, job descriptions, work alongside management to identify and anticipate recruitment needs, job postings, pre-screening of resumes, interviewing, reference checks, selection, preparation and coordination of job offers., compensation and orientation.<p>Consults and coordinates with legal counsel to defend the Boards actions in cases before Boards of Arbitration, the Pay Equity and Human Rights Commission/Tribunal, the WSIB Tribunal and the Ontario Labour Relations Board.<p>Ensures compliance with and consistent application of, the collective agreements and provides advice and counsel on the same to all levels of the organizations.<p>Reviews, negot
