*The opportunity*
We have an exciting full-time permanent opportunity for a *Manager, Communications*. Reporting to the Associate Director, Marketing & Communications, theManager, Communications will play a key role in the design and delivery of integrated communications strategies that will advance March of Dimes Canada?s strategic objectives and enhance the reputation and influence of its brand.
The incumbent will bring senior-level experience that bridges traditional and digital corporate and strategic communications. On the traditional side, they will be experienced in developing multifaceted strategies, announcements, and products, effective and compelling key messages, media relations and issues management, and other traditional corporate communication functions. On the digital side, the incumbent will demonstrate a strong background in content strategy, including writing for the web, email and social media, and multimedia content production. An understanding of accessibility in all content is a must. With excellent creative instincts and judgment, they also will ensure MODC?s brand is presented across all media with consistency and vibrancy.
An experienced manager, the incumbent will lead the day-to-day communications operations to deliver on departmental priorities and support internal customers. Serving as a trusted advisor and contributor, they will develop a nuanced understanding of the organization?s lines of business and shared services, design strategies to meet identified needs and goals, and manage and directly contribute to delivery. Strong project and relationship management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities will be key success factors for the role.
*Responsibilities*
* Manage the development and delivery of strategic and corporate communications plans to support the organization?s mission deliver programming and shared services.
* Contribute to developing and refining the organization?s core messages, establishing a clear, compelling and consistent brand story and voice across all MODC?s communications and content.
* Design, develop and continually optimize a wide array of content, including announcements, annual reports, digital copy, impact stories, and videos.
* Proactively manage media monitoring and relations, seeking opportunities to position MODC as a thought leader and key voice in the disability community.
* Support issues management and crisis communications, including development of response plans and briefing/coaching of corporate spokespeople.
* Establish measurement approaches and provide ongoing reporting on department activities and campaigns.
* Work closely with the Public Affairs team to support executive communications, including working with key leaders to build their online influence and reputations.
* Establish a culture of continuous learning and development within the Marketing & Communications team, engaging formal and informal learning opportunities.
* Contribute to the development of departmental operational plans, goals and budgets.
