Tasks: Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles or other masonry units. Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing. Read sketches and blueprints to calculate materials required. Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages. Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools. Restore, clean or paint existing masonry structures. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Bricklayer Trade Certification. Bricklayer Red Seal Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Gloves.
