<p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p><p>The Field Service Technician is responsible for service, installation, and support of Weinig/Holzher equipment for the furniture, cabinet, millwork, molding, lumber and other related industries.</p><p><br> <strong>Primary Areas of Responsibilities </strong></p><ul><li>Responds to customers in a pleasant, professional, and timely manner</li><li>Maintains / develops rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system improvements</li><li>Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper corrective actions</li><li>Document service and installation actions by completing work orders, parts forms, and inspection reports. Ensure these reports are returned promptly for processing</li><li>Instruct and provide training to customers and colleagues on proper use regarding applications, operation and maintenance, hardware failures, software and programming</li><li>Assist customers to achieve optimum efficiency and machine reliability</li><li>Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional industry publications</li></ul><ul><li>Increase the value of the service call by seeking to apply additional service or parts where possible</li><li>Development of Weinig Holzher Canada?s service business</li></ul><ul><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul><p><strong><br> Education, Experience, Skill and Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Mechanical, electrical/electronics skills with industrial/capital equipment</li><li>Experience with computers, pneumatic and hydraulics</li><li>Drive systems, PLC, programming logic</li><li>Experience in the woodworking industry a plus</li><li>Class 5 Driver?s License with a clean driver abstract</li><li>Provide a reliable vehicle for business use appropriate of a service technician</li><li>Ability to adapt to changing priorities and processes, work effectively under pressure</li><li>Proficient with computers (Microsoft Office and Windows, CAD/CAM software)</li><li>Ability to take direction and offer positive feedback</li><li>Standard hand tools required</li><li>Lift and carry weights of 50 pounds or more</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to work on all components of equipment, above, below or around</li><li>Ability to work independently and make decisions combined with the ability to work as part of a team and share information</li></ul><ul><li>Excellent customer service skills</li><li>Strong time management and organization skills with a keen attention to detail</li><li>Valid Passport for out of country travel</li><li>Current immunizations and vaccinations for domestic and international travel</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Working Conditions</strong></p><ul><li>Possibility of exposure to flammable substances, Dust particulate, load noise</li><li>Work ?on call? or outside of regular hours if required</li><li>Long periods of, sitting, standing, crouching, lifting and bending</li><li>Travel on short notice and for extended periods may be required</li></ul><p><strong>Health and Safety</strong></p><p>Safety is critical in all Weinig Holzher Canada Operations and this position plays a key role in ensuring the safety of Weinig Holzher Canada staff, customers, the public and the environment by being a leader in safety behaviour and communication.
