Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. Work site environment: Beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots. Chicken farming. Goat farming. Other grain farming. Sheep farming. Potato and vegetable. Tasks: Handling animals. Harvest seedlings. Marking livestock as proof of ownership. Mixing fertilizer. Monitoring animal health. Perform animal grooming activities . Raise and breed livestock and poultry. Maintain farm machinery, equipment and buildings. Manage overall operation of farm. Organize and co-ordinate planting, cultivating and crop harvesting activities; raising and breeding of livestock and poultry. Purchase machinery, livestock, seed, feed and other supplies. Determine the amount and kinds of crops to be grown and livestock to be raised. Establish marketing programs. Maintain financial and production records. Perform general farm duties. Recruit, hire and supervise staff and/or volunteers. Supervision: 5-10 people. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail.
