*Purchasing Clerk*
The Purchasing Clerk is responsible for purchasing the right items to meet order demand, prevent backorders, and stay within budget. This individual should understand and apply the concepts behind effective forecasting to ensure we have the right items available for our customers.
This individual will also have to perform a wide array of supportive tasks in direct conjunction with the goals and objectives of the purchasing, marketing and sales team. This is an entry level position intended to develop a broad set of skills up to and including PO creation, inventory management, and margin maximization. S/he will assist in cultivating beneficial relationships with our vendors.
This is NOT a remote and Hybrid position. Successful candidate must work on-site in our North York Head Office.
*Duties:*
Utilize forecasting software and experience to identify stock needs.
Purchase materials required for inventory and drop-ship orders.
Promptly respond to internal team requests for sourced items, inventory availability, and product information.
Review invoices received for accuracy before closing out purchase orders.
Develop strong relationships with existing vendors to negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and delivery conditions.
Conduct regular vendor meetings to strengthen the relationship while maintaining and sharing a Vendor Scorecard to track performance.
Regularly evaluate product performance to improve inventory turns and stock levels.
Based on current and projected demand, maintain accurate inventory statuses (in stock, drop-ship, purchase on request, etc.).
Ongoing Vendor and Product master-file maintenance
Utilize advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
Proactively contact vendors persistently to obtain quote or order status.
Understand the intricacies of forecasting for continuous improvement.
Keep Inventory Management Software and forecasting software up-to-date and accurate at all times.
*Qualifications:*
* Must have some experience in procurement or purchasing; preferably in medications and supplements.
* Maintains a high level of competency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
* Able to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines, often adjusting in accordance to evolving priorities.
* Accomplish an appropriate volume of work under normal conditions.
* Able to quickly define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
* Function effectively within a collaborative team environment.
* Self-motivated with a passion for success and growth
