Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Dusty. Work setting: On-site customer service. Commercial. Residential. Various locations. Work in employer's/client's home. Tasks: Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered. Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings. Prepare and install hardwood floors. Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings. Estimate costs and materials. Prepare floors for installations. Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants. Perform direct glue-down carpet installations. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Equipment and machinery experience: Forklift. Area of specialization: Floors. Installation specialization: Vinyl or resilient sheets. Hardwood strip flooring. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Willing to travel. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling.
