Various locations. Apartment/condominium complex. Retirement home. Tasks: Hire and train or arrange for training of cleaning staff. Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers. Inspect sites or facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness standards. Prepare budget and cost estimates. Recommend or arrange for additional services required such as painting, repair work, renovations or replacement of furnishings and equipment. Maintain financial records. Receive payment for specialized cleaning jobs. Assist cleaners in performing duties. Co-ordinate work activities with other departments. Establish work schedules. Address customers' complaints or concerns. Wash windows, walls and ceilings. Vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture. Stock linen closet. Shop for food and household supplies. Pick up debris and empty trash containers. Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties. Mend clothing and linens. Launder clothing and household linens. Handle and report lost and found items. Dust furniture. Disinfect operating rooms and other areas. Distribute clean towels and toiletries. Attend to guests' requests for extra supplies or other items. Make beds and change sheets. Clean and disinfect elevators. Provide basic information on facilities. Clean changing rooms and showers. Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene. Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors. Clean, disinfect and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances.
