Welder Stena Drilling is delighted to be commencing operations offshore Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada for an anticipated six (6) month drilling campaign onboard the Stena DrillMAX Drillship.There are currently temporary opportunities for 1 Welder working on a 28/28 on/off rotation.Business Address: 701-10 Fort William Place, St. John's, NL, A1C 1K4Work Location: Onboard the Stena DrillMAX Drillship, offshore NL. Please note there is a possibility that successful candidates will be required to join the drillship overseas at an international location prior to mobilizing to NL.Wage: $68.81 CAD per hourBenefits: Dental, Life, Medical, Vision, and where applicable, Offshore Allowance.Job Duties:Must be fully committed to working safely and to accepting responsibility for the safety of fellow crew members.Assist Supervisor in identifying jobs which may require a Risk Assessment.Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the equipment and cleanliness of the area for which he has been allocated responsibility.Carry out welding, cutting, and general repairs and maintenance throughout the drilling unit as approved by the Chief Engineer.Ensure that sufficient stock of all necessary welding consumables, including gases and electrodes are maintained onboard.Supervise, inspect and maintain the oxy-acetylene installation and all welding equipment, with the safe stowage of the oxy-acetylene bottles.Update their knowledge of welding procedures.Notify the Chief Engineer of spare gear requirements.Ensure a Fire Watcher is in attendance when considered necessary by Permit to Work.Obtain and maintain welding qualifications as required.Any other duties as required by the Chief Engineer.Skills, Education, and Experience:Coded Welder.
