Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect defects. Establish NDI techniques and calibration standards. Calibrate, test and interpret ultrasonic equipment. Prepare, conduct and interpret liquid penetrant inspection. Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations. Instruct and supervise trainees. Interpret radiographs, cathode ray tube (CRT) or digital readouts, conductivity meters and visual indicators. Maintain test result reports. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : CWB Welding Inspector Certification Level 1. CWB Visual Inspector Certification Level 2. Nondestructive Testing Certificate. Testing equipment and methods: Liquid penetrant. Magnetic particle. Visual inspection. Nondestructive testing. Area of work experience: Construction. Hydro and utilities. Oil or gas pipelines.
