Job details
*Basic Function: *
Lead the design, installation and optimization of equipment and processes for the manufacturing of Stabilizer Bars and Torsion Bars. Working closely with production, industrialization, controls & tooling engineering to ensure new or revised processes meet and exceed expectations for both safety and quality.
*Principal Accountabilities: *
· Develop budget requirements, project schedules, and manage integrators and projects for new and/or modified processes to ensure cost, timing, quality, safety and environmental goals are met.
· Provide maintenance support and assist with machine troubleshooting.
· Lead cycle time improvements
· Take a leadership role for new product launches and make required process and/or equipment changes.
· Support Tooling Engineering on cost reduction and production improvements
· Support production by optimizing current processes through tooling, equipment and process changes.
· Remove waste (time, energy, resources) from processes.
· Lead Continuous Activity programs for areas of responsibility
· Work closely with management to establish sustainable LEAN practices that empower employees, accelerate change, and enable personal and team development.
· Serve as a change agent to challenge existing processes in place. Use data to communicate and support the opportunities that exist.
· Develop and maintain work instructions, LOTO, PFMEAs and PFDs
· Facilitate/coordinate/identify required training for new equipment, new processes, etc.
· The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in engineering leadership as well as the ability to develop and implement standard engineering practices.
· Ensure that safety and housekeeping standards are kept and continually improved upon. Attend JHSC meetings and support actions to address safety concerns.
· Other duties and projects as assigned
*Qualifications: *
+ Post-Secondary degree in Engineering
+ Forging and Heat Treating experience an asset
+ Induction Heating experience an asset
+ Professional Engineer (P. Eng) preferred
+ Minimum three to five years? experience in manufacturing engineering
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ High level of proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD
+ Strong organizational skills.
+ Self-motivated
