<h3>Job Description</h3><div><p>Vehicle Accessory CAD Designer - Plastics</p><p>Unique and exciting opportunity designing exterior automotive plastic accessories for many automotive manufactures (OEM's).</p><p><strong>Reporting to Engineering Manager </strong></p><p>Responsible for automotive accessory development (injection molded - exterior parts) from conceptual CAD development through final design.</p><p><strong>Duties: </strong></p><p>1) Obtain and analyze customer / vehicle CAD data.</p><p>2) CAD development through varies OEM interfaces. GM, FCA, Toyota, Nissan, Subaru, Ford, Hyundai etc.</p><p>3) Conceptual, A -Surface and B- Surface developments and submissions per OEM speciation(s).</p><p>4) Development and submission of final CAD / DWGs per OEM specifications and GD&T.</p><p>5) Development of fastening strategies with the use of hardware (screws, u-clips, push- pins) and acrylic foam tape.</p><p>6) BOM development.</p><p>7) Ongoing interaction with customers... engineering departments.</p><p>8) Instruction sheet development (CAD) across many OEM's. Pictorial, verbiage and translations.</p><p>9) Ability to provide hands on support through various test fit milestones at OEM's (incl. manufacturing plants and VPC / Port facilities.</p><p>10) Request / obtain supplier quotes when and where required</p><p>11) Ongoing interaction with other designers, tool developer, molder, painter, quality groups and production teams.</p><p>12) Provide ongoing development updates daily and through APQP meetings</p><p><strong>Skills:</strong></p><p>1) College or other post-secondary education related to automotive design</p><p>2) 5-10 years working experience in automotive design specific to plastic components (injection molded parts - MIC and painted)</p><p>3) Accessible knowledge of GM, FCA, Nissan, Toyota, Subaru, Ford etc. CAD interfaces and portals.</p><p>4) Strong CAD knowledge in NX, Catia, Solid Works, Rhinoceros or Cimatron</p><p>5) Familiarity with OEM paint systems, racking and masking</p><p>6) Strong organizational skills</p><p>7) Ability to work in a fast past environment with excellent attention to detail with minimal supervision.</p><p>8) Practical knowledge of ISO / TS 16949</p></div>
